From the time she could hold a crayon, native New Yorker Janet Bari showed artistic promise. While in first grade, her creative abilities figured prominently in an exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art. By high school, Janet knew she would put her talents to work as a professional make-up artist. Since completing certification and licensing in cosmetology and salon management, Janet has spent more than a quarter century in the beauty business, sharing her artistry with thousands of clients worldwide.
Janet kicked off her career by making use of her special training which qualified her to teach techniques to other make-up artists and cosmetologists. Her keen sense of style, detail-oriented expertise and overall artistic talents did not go unnoticed. During that time, the personable professional was recruited by Estee Lauder to travel throughout the metropolitan area giving make-up and skincare consultations for promotional events.
In 1995, Janet branched out and opened a private studio where she taught make-up application and skincare with a special focus on the needs of brides. She has successfully built a large and loyal client base throughout New York City and Long Island. A lifelong student, Janet has continued to learn the latest make-up application techniques, including airbrushing for high definition photography and video—a must for anyone facing today’s digital cameras. Internationally acclaimed, her work also includes make-up for editorial layouts and a variety of runway and trunk shows for top designers such as Yves Saint Laurent, Bill Blass and Oscar de la Renta, as well as bridal shows for Kleinfeld’s held at Russo’s on the Bay.
At this moment, even the smallest detail counts.
